The Bear Radio Calendar is a curated selection of events that’ll keep your curiosity fed, your small talk sparkling and your social schedule brimming with excitement.
Here’s what we’re up to for the next month…
04 – 13 November

The BBA Gallery launched in 2017 and they strive to find and represent artists with unique talent and ideas, and provide them with the help and exposure they need, whether they’re emerging or mid-career. The BBA Photography Prize awards international photographers irrespective of their background with several Prizes including a solo show, cash prizes & more. The photographers selected by the jury will exhibit their works in the Kühlhaus Berlin over 600 square meters and last year’s winner Jens Juul will also participate in this year’s exhibition.
15 – 20 November
International Short Film Festival Berlin

The International Short Film Festival Berlin (Kurzfilmfestival) is a pretty big deal, and back for its 38th edition! It’s the second most significant film festival in Berlin after the Berlinale. Every year, the team selects the participating short films from around 6000 submissions from over 120 countries. Film creatives reflect on questions of global justice and colonial heritage, climate change and the changing environment, representation, personal development and political participation, love, life and everything in between. There are 6 competitions, over 300 films, in 38 in cinemas across 5 days. Go check it out!
18 & 19 November

The 7th edition of Synästhesie Festival takes place this year and is again hosted by the team from 8MM. The festival showcases all the musical favourites of the 8MM Bar including Slowdive, Tess Parks, No Joy and local acts like Warm Graves and Gloria de Oliveira. It will be taking place at the Kulturbrauerei.
16 November – 15 January
Christmas Garden at the Botanical Garden in Berlin

Too early for Christmas content? Never. The Berlin Botanical Garden will be returning with its enchanted world after dark, with hundreds of light installations, Christmas-themed 3D figures all over the grounds, singing trees and other beautiful soundscapes. Perfect for family, friends, or even a cute date option. Dress warm! It’s all outdoors.
27 & 28 November
Alte Munze is hosting over 40 stands for the QWEER Market including small companies, designers, artists, e-companies and shops showcasing fashion items, Arts & Crafts and kinky Sex Toys. Perfect if you’d just like to enjoy a bite to eat while supporting local commerce and queer businesses. Who knows what the weather will be doing, but don’t worry, the Market is indoors in case of Rain.
