Take an exciting musical journey back to the 1950s and 1960s with the Biennale of the Berliner Philharmonic. The years following the Second World War were a fascinating artistic period whose innovative concepts and ideas of a new beginning are worth rediscovering – so they’re coming to life at the Biennale! There are concerts showcasing a wide range of ensembles and top-class musicians. In addition to the Berlin Philharmonic Orchesta and its principal conductor Kirill Petrenko, the orchestra includes Sir Simon Rattle, Alan Gilbert, Bertrand Chamayou, the Quatuor Diotima, Tim Fischer, Sophie Rois, the German Symphonic Orchestra, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester and the RIAS chamber choir.
Berlin’s premiere musical comedy team blows audiences away with their completely improvised Broadway-style musicals all across the city! Incorporate rap, jazz, opera, and more, Kaleidoscope is a tour-de-force of musical talent and witty storytelling and you get to see them in action at Neue Bühne Friedrichshain. We cannot recommend this show enough – each unique show is hilarious and touching, enchanting and inspiring and had almost always brought us to tears (of both joy and sadness). These guys are SO talented that they’ve earned a spot at The Edinburgh Fringe festival this year – and tickets to this show will help finance their way to stardom.
16 – 26 February
